Jolotca appeared as a result of the flowering of the village at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century in the areas used to make hay and to raise animals.
The first colonists dealt with the deforestation and burning of coal, hence the name of the village.
It developed as a sporadic spread across the valley. Elevation 850 m. The settlement is located in the valley of the Orotva and Pisces streams.
The first inhabitants are mentioned from the 1830s on what was then called Bányahegy.
